Kithara Software and InoNet Enter Technology Partnership
Kithara Software and InoNet are combining their expertise to provide a high-performance industrial PC platform for demanding real-time applications. The goal of the partnership is to combine industrial PCs from InoNet across a wide range of performance classes with the Kithara real-time system and to demonstrate this as a validated solution for industrial machine vision as well as Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).
The platform addresses applications with high demands on determinism, computing power, and reliability. Typical use cases include high-resolution image acquisition and processing, AI-based analysis, sensor fusion, and safety-critical control tasks in vehicles and machines.
By integrating the Kithara real-time system on InoNet’s high-performance embedded PCs, a comprehensive system solution is created that combines hard real-time capability under Windows, multicore support for parallel, latency-critical processes, high computing power for machine vision and AI algorithms, an industrial-grade hardware design for demanding environments and scalability from prototypes to series production.
The combination of industrial-grade hardware and deterministic software enables system integrators and OEMs to implement complex image processing and ADAS applications on a standardized platform. Development effort is reduced, integration risks are minimized, and time-to-market is shortened.
“With InoNet, we have found a partner whose industrial PC systems are ideally suited for compute-intensive real-time applications. Together, we demonstrate that demanding machine vision and ADAS functionalities can be realized on industrial standard platforms with deterministic behavior,” explains Uwe Jesgarz, CEO of Kithara Software GmbH.
The joint demonstration platform will specifically target the mid to high performance range and will focus in particular on scenarios with high data rates, low latency and synchronized processing of multiple sensor streams. Kithara and InoNet are thus addressing system integrators, machine builders, and manufacturers of intelligent vehicle systems.
Beyond the partnership, both companies plan to provide reference designs, technical white papers, and application examples to enable customers to carry out well-founded evaluations and to facilitate a rapid start in implementing their own real-time projects.
