Vision 2024: Visit us now at booth 8C12!
Starting today, Kithara will showcase the latest real-time machine vision technologies at the Vision in Stuttgart at booth 8C12, hall 8. Find out more about the most recent developments of Kithara RealTime Vision, the PC-based software solution for capturing, processing and storaging of image data in real time!
Here are some of the developments, Kithara will showcase at the trade fair:
GigE Vision frame grabber in a real-time context
The PGC-1000 PCIe acceleration card from PLC2 Design can be used in conjunction with the Kithara real-time operating system to handle the conversion process of captured GigE Vision data, thus almost completely offloading the CPU during image processing operations. This allows machine vision systems to be significantly accelerated, creating a high-performance development environment. Real-time synchronization of multiple cameras is also possible with the Kithara PTP function.
200 Gigabit Ethernet
Kithara has recently added support for PCIe-4 cards with the Intel controller E810-2CQDA2, thus reaching the 200 Gigabit Ethernet milestone. As with the support for 100 Gigabit Ethernet in real time, QSFP28 transceivers (Quad Small Form Factor Pluggable with four lanes of 28 Gbit/s each) are used for this. For this specific 200 GbE implementation, two ports are utilized simultaneously. This way, Kithara RealTime Suite is also prepared for future demanding high-end multi-camera systems.
Image data storage with Raid 0
Capturing large amounts of image data oftentimes also requires the implementation of an optimized storage system. That is why Kithara has extended real-time storaging via NVMe SSDs with the function to use RAID controllers as well. This allows for the already high read and write speeds, that are achievable by use of the Storage Module, to be even multiplied.
